SMOOTH EYE LASER TREATMENT

As the name implies, this treatment will help to reduce wrinkles and improve crepey skin around the eyes.  The laser assist with smoothing out the skin the periorbital area, giving a more refreshed appearance.  Dr. Wong applies the laser using a dedicated laser program to firm, tighten, tone, and rejuvenate the skin of both upper and lower eyelids, with unparalleled precision using a specially designed Fotona Laser handpiece.

It is safe to be used directly on the upper and lower eyelid skin, with your eyes protected by a titanium eye shield which fits inside your eyelid like a large contact lens.

How is out laser different to standard laser treatments?

The Fotona laser differs from other lasers as it has two lasers in one; the Er:YAG and the Nd:YAG. These are the two most advanced non-surgical lasers available. The combination of these lasers allows a lot of versatility in the procedures and treatments, giving incredible skin firming results which are natural as it stimulates your own collagen to tighten and plump the skin.  The good news is that the collagen production may continue a number of months after the treatments.

Who is suitable for treatment? Anyone with some wrinkles or sagging around the eye area is suitable. It may also provides some lifting of the upper eyelid skin. Any skin type and tone is suitable for this laser.

Fotona Smooth Eye laser treats the skin in a non-ablative manner and maybe performed after the application of topical anaesthetic to reduce discomfort.

The experience by other patients has been described as feeling like a gentle flicking of the skin, or warm ants walking across their skin. For those sensitive to heat, a cool Zimmer compress can be applied to aid skin calming.

Throughout the treatment energy is delivered in a unique sub-second long pulse sequence: this achieves homogeneous heating without heat build-up and within several hundred micrometres of the skin surface. This gentle heating stimulates collagen production and remodelling and stimulates neo-collagenesis – the re-awakening of cells that produce new collagen.

A treatment plan of Fotona Smooth Eye Laser results in overall improvement of wrinkles, laxity and elasticity in the treatment areas around the eyes.

Recommended Treatment Plan:  Generally Fotona recommends a course of 3 treatments, approximately 4 to 6 weeks apart.  After this one treatment every 6 to 12 months is recommended as maintainence.

Downtime:  You may get some redness and swelling for 2-5 days.  We recommend you use cold compress at home after your treatment and post laser healing balms may be purchased from our clinic.

Costs: Initial consultation with Dr Wong required and consultation fee applies. Treatment: $500 per treatment (we normally take $50 booking fee, the booking fee will be deducted from the total and you pay the balance on the day of laser).  It takes about 30 minutes to perform the treatment.  All treatments are performed by Dr Wong only, as the treatment involve a very important visual organ of your body.
