Vaginal Laser Tightening Incontinence Laser Clinic Brisbane
Vagina Laser Tightening Incontinence Laser Treatments Brisbane
IncontiLase® is a new patent-pending, non-invasive Erbium YAG laser therapy for the treatment of mild to moderate stress urinary incontinence. The Erbium laser stimulates collagen production along the vaginal canal; shrinking of the existing collagen fibres, tightening of the vaginal mucosa, improvement of the vaginal architecture, which provides support for the bladder.
IncontiLase is similar to the “Mona Lisa Touch”. The “Mona Lisa Touch” uses Carbon Dioxide laser (ablative type) and IncontiLase uses non-ablative Erbium laser. The Erbium laser is gentler to the vaginal tissues compared to carbon dioxide.
The indications for IncontiLase therapy are mild to moderate stress- and mixed-urinary incontinence (SUI). Preliminary clinical studies show that it has a high response rate, is easy-to-perform and a safe procedure. IncontiLase has been used in over 30 countries worldwide since its release and the results validated in different countries.
IntimaLase is a similar treatments using a slightly different setting for the treatment of “Relaxed Vaginal Syndrome”. This is usually the result of childbirth, menopause or ageing. Patients may report reduced sensation during intercourse because of relaxed vaginal canal. Now it is possible to use the Erbium Laser to treat this condition. A course of 3-5 treatments may be required, 4-6 weeks apart.
Similarly RenovaLase is another treatment to help relieve localised symptoms of menopause, which include painful intercourse and vaginal dryness, or for women who are unable to use topical oestrogen because of a history of sensitivity or breast cancer.
Laser treatments should be treated as medical procedures and you should make an appointment to have a thorough assessment with Dr. Janet first. This may require an update of your pap smear, microbiological testing, and other examinations prior to treatment. The initial well woman check will attract a Medicare rebate.
The actual Laser treatments do not attract medicare rebates, hence private fees are charged, and start from $380 per session, plus the cost of your re-usable glass speculum (approximately $85).
Unique advantages of IncontiLase® for your patients
Usually two sessions are recommended to alleviate mild or even moderate stress urinary incontinence. No special pre-op preparation or post-op precautions are necessary. Patients can immediately return to their normal everyday activities.
